Four Seasons Carpentry 2015

It has been a busy first half of 2015 for Four Seasons Carpentry,  just a brief update on what has been going on since my last post. January- March we did a lot of snow removal, also in January I received a call from one of my customers I built a deck for, she needed work in her basement. I removed the out dated drop ceiling and replaced it with a drywall ceiling with new recessed lighting. In Feburary I did a complete bathroom remodel, new  drywall, plumbing fixtures, and ceramic tile. In March another basement ceiling repair with new recessed lighting, I also did a tile  back splash in a kitchen in Bartlett. In April I built a small back porch in Hanover Park, I also did some drywall repair work in a basement that had water damaged, along with installing new base boards and some painting. In May I built a custom fence in North Barrington, Installed some base boards in a kitchen in Bartlett, and did some repairs on a De-attached garage in Carol Stream. Whats great about my job is the variety of work that I do, and the new customers I meet, and my past customers I continue to do work for. Well that’s it for now, Heres to a busy and succesful second half of 2015

Four Seasons Carpentry Builds new 10×12 Storage shed in Elgin IL

Four Seasons Carpentry Built a new 10x12x10 Barn Storage shed in Elgin Il. The Shed was built with a heavy Duty 3/4″ treated plywood floor with 2×4 studs 16″ O.C. and 2×4 roof rafters 16″ O.C. with a 5/8″ OSB roof deck.  We used 5/8 Smart Panel pre primed siding for the walls. this siding comes with a 50 year warranty , it also is rated for stud spacing at 24″ O.C. but elgin codes requires studs to be spaced at 16″ O.C.  I also installed a 10×4 loft in the back of the shed and a 10×2 work shelf below the loft. These Barn sheds are great for storage because of the roof height. The project took about 2 days to complete.

Storage Shed Repair in Mt Prospect

I Received a call from a customer in Mt. Prospect, he wanted me to come out and look at his storage shed in his backyard. The shed was at least 25 years old, some of the T1-11 siding was rotten at the bottom, the shed doors and all  of the trim boards needed to be replaced along with the shed roof. I told the customer that a new shed this size would cost about $3,500, compared to repairing the existing 10x12x10 barn shed would cost $1,750.00.  The customer decided to go with repair. I replaced all the damaged wood installed new shed doors, installed a new roof, and gave it a fresh coat of paint. the project took about 2-1/2 days to complete.

Four Seasons Carpentry Kitchen Remodel

One of my good customers called me in May, they recently moved to another house and she wanted me to come out to give her an estimate on remodeling the existing kithcen.I did a lot of work at their previous home ( deck, Finished basement.) and was looking forward to seeing their new house. When I  arrived she gave a tour of the new home. The new home was much larger, a better floor plan and built more recent than the previous home. The one thing she wanted to improve in her new house was the Kitchen. She had some good ideas and some pictures of the concept she was looking for. We decided to remodel  the walls that separated the kitchen from the dining room and living room, and convert them into half walls to give a more open feel to the kitchen. I installed some new base cabinets on one of the half walls and on the other built an oak frame to support a breakfast counter.  I also updated there ceiling fan with a new one , Installed  an over the sink cabinet light fixture. and added some GFI outlets. the project took about 8 days start to finish. I always enjoy working for this family. nice decent people to work for.

Four Seasons Carpentry built a new shed in Arlington Heights

I received a call from a customer in April who wanted me to come out and give an estimate on repairing an existing backyard shed.  The shed was about 20 years old, and had rotten wood to the siding, doors and roof deck. I told the customer it would not make sense to put any more money into this shed, because the cost of repairing it would be more than the sheds worth. I gave him an estimate on removing the existing shed and building a new shed the exact style and size. I used smart panel siding and trim for the exterior and 30 year shingles on the roof. The customer was happy that the siding came with a 50 year warranty and that he wouldn’t have to worry about the new shed siding rotting and decay like the old shed. The project took about 2 days with removal of the old shed and building the new one.
